Kindness in the Neighbourhood

Aim:
To reach out to the low income families in their neighbourhood

Why:
Believe that acts of kindness will teach students the concept of “community before self” and change the residents’ perception that students are not civic-minded.

Where:
Housing units around Strathmore Avenue

What:
Partnering with Econ Health & Wellness Centre (Queenstown), the Guides and Scouts of Queenstown Secondary School cleaned houses of the low income families and taught them simple craft.

How:
While their peers cleaned the home of the residents, the other students taught the residents how to fold various origami.
