Aim:
Provide needy students with basic foot protection as part of the school’s 35th anniversary celebrations, and encourage students to “pay it forward” by passing kind deeds on to make the world a better place.
Why:
Young students suffering from poverty do not have basic foot protection.
Where:
Singapore and other countries.
What:
A used-shoes charity drive was carried out. Students ran 200 metres barefoot before their cross-country marathon, setting the national record for the largest barefoot run in the Singapore Book of records. First aid was also provided during the run.
How:
Shoes donated were ensured to be in good condition, then sorted by size and labelled before packing into boxes. Beneficiaries were heartened by the gestures and requested for such meaningful partnerships in future.
