Theme: General Kindness

Write-up: Tapping on an existing partnership with Lions Befrienders, the NCC cadets of ACS (BR) organised and executed a Chinese New Year event for the seniors at Ghim Moh Senior Activity Centre in January 2020. This involved putting up temporary decorations to add to the event’s atmosphere, facilitating craft and bingo activities for the elderly, serving them bento sets for lunch, and distributing care packs. The cadets’ schoolmates from the Chinese Orchestra also put up a music performance for the seniors. In all, the event was an engaging one for the elderly, and the students also managed to have meaningful interactions with them through the various activities.
